MediLodge of Howell Wellness Center Addition
The 12,000 square foot addition includes a Wellness Center consisting of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and SpeechTherapy to serve the existing 239 bed nursing home and the surrounding local community. A new spa will offer alternative wellness options, including a hair & make-up salon, as well as personal message rooms.
The new connecting breezeway will allow direct access from the dedicated remodeled Physical Therapy guest rooms in the original facility to the new Wellness Center. The Wellness Center is located in the front entry court of the existing building and functions as the new entry for the entire facility. The new entry leads into the main corridor which leads into the existing facility, dividing the therapy and salon areas along the way.
The salon area consists of a patient bathique room for therapeutic baths, barber and beauty areas as well as three private massage therapy rooms and a private relaxation room.
The main therapy area is a large open space for physical therapy and state of the art exercise equipment. There is an administrative office for charting with an adjacent patient care conference room located in the center of the perimeter exercise track. Also included is a new resistance current pool with locker rooms that make Fluid and Hydro Therapies available to the current residents as well as guests.
The therapy area also has a practice bathroom and fully equipped practice kitchen for residents to use to improve their independence skills prior to returning home after completing their therapy regimens.
Speech Therapy has two small administrative areas and a larger space that is used for group training and eating in addition to a private training speech room providing space for one on one training.
The new addition includes a General Store and Coffee Shop; the JavaLodge. A major living room is provided off of the main corridor just before entering the existing facility.
